The Register Star, Rockford, Illinois, Wednesday, June 10, 1998, Page 15: Loves Park---Marshall Kenny, 56, of Loves Park, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Nov 13, 1941, in Platteville, Wis, the son of Bill and Eleanor (Fruit) Kenny. Lived most of his life in Wisconsin moving to Loves Park three years ago. Married Barbara Duncan in Lino Lakes, Minn., on July 21, 1960. He graduated from Platteville High School and attended Blackhawk Technical School and Rock Valley College. Employed as a senior buyer for 32 years by Siebe-Barber-Colman Co. He also worked as a Rockford Park District police officer. Marshall served in U. S Army Special Forces and also was a member of the Fifth Army Band. Member of Illinois Police Association, Jefferson Horton American Legion Post 340 in Rockton and VFW Post 9759, Loves Park. An avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. He loved music and enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra recordings. Survivors include wife, Barbara; children Kelvin Kenny of Beloit, Wis., Kerry Kenny of Evansville, Wis., Kristine Kenny of Janesville, Wis., and Karman (Anthony) Chiodini of Rockford; six grandchildren, Ryan, Nickie, Curtis, Kirk, Michael and Marina; and mother, Eleanor Kenny of Platteville. Predeceased by father, Bill; and brother Earl Thomas Kenny. Services at 10 a.m. Friday, June 12, in Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Funeral Home, 1401 Blackhawk Blvd. South Beloit. Burial in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 835 Deerborn Ave., South Beloit. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 11, in the funeral home.
