Toulon Stark County News, Toulon, Illinois, Friday, June 6, 1902, Page 10, Col. 3: Mrs. Irvin Ingels. Again the unseen mystic hand of death has beckoned from earth's toils and sorrows a weary sufferer. This time from the home of Irvin Ingels; the loving, tender wife and mother responded to the call and crossed the silent river from whose farther short no echo e'er returns.

Eliza B., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ryder, was born at Toulon, Illinois, July 23, 1859, and departed this life at LaFayette, Illinois, May 31, 1902, aged 42 years, 10 months and 8 days. February 15, 1882, she was united in marriage with Irvin Ingels, to whom she has been all that a loving and devoted wife could be. Six children, three sons and three daughters, remain to mourn the loss of a loving mother.

At the early age of 14 she made the good confession and united with the church of Christ at Toulon under the pastorate of Elder L. B. Ames, and at the time of her marriage her membership was transferred to the church of Christ at LaFayette, Illinois, of which she continued an earnest, active member until called to her reward above.

For several years she was one of the thirteen faithful members who kept alive the faith of the church of Christ at LaFayette. Her life has ever been marked by unselfish devotion to the cause of the good and right. Her time and strength were ever at the call of the sick and needy. Forgetful of self, with warm and cheerful sympathy, her frequent presence at the bedside of the sick cheered and strengthened them in their hours of suffering or sorrow. Until failing health imperatively commanded her to cease, she was an active consecrated worker in all departments of Christian labor. Faithful at all the services of the church of which she was a member, she did much to place the church in the prosperous condition where it stands today.

In her home she was characterized by the same untiring, unselfish devotion. The welfare of her husband and children was always the uppermost object in her life. But in the noonday of life death came and cut short a useful and beautiful life, a blessing to the community and home. The home has lost a loving mother and faithful wife, the community a helpful and Christian worker, the church a loyal and devoted member, while Heaven has gained an immortal soul and she an eternal life.

A father and mother, brothers and sisters, husband and children mourn the departure of a loving daughter, and sister, a faithful and tender wife and mother, while a host of relatives and friends look with tender eyes toward the far off shore where she waits them for evermore.

"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord."
