Grand Rapids Press, Grand Rapids, Michigan, December 30, 1986, Page C 1: Alice Elizabeth (Betty) Kirkpatrick, aged 81, of 1200 Earhart Rd., Ann Arbor, MI, died December 25, 1986 at The Glacier Hills Nursing Center in Ann Arbor after an illness. Born June 2, 1905 to the Reverends Alexander W. and Alice Rhine MacBlain, she spent most of her married like in Grand Rapids, MI and Bay View, MI, with her husband, the late Myron Sanford Kirkpatrick. Active in those communities as a book reviewer and a leader in the Saint Cecilia Society, Community Concert, YWCA, Mary Welch Hospital Guild of Blodgett Hospital, and Susannah Wesley Circle at Trinity, all of Grand Rapids and the Women's Council of Bay View. She moved to Ann Arbor in May 1985. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Robert and Stella MacBlain of Des Moines, IA; her daughter, Diane of Ann Arbor; her son, Bruce; her daughter-in-law, Judy; her granddaughter, Joanna; her grandson, Joel; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Anne and Robert Mc Pherson; and her great-grandson, Ryan McPherson all of Port Huron, MI; her nephew-in-law, David Kirkpatrick and his wife Winifred of Grand Rapids; and additionally, by three nephews, one niece, and numerous nieces-in-law, great-nieces and nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held in Grand Rapids at Trinity Methodist Church, Lake Dr. at Calkins, on Saturday January 10 at 3 pm. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Assoc. or to Trinity Methodist church of Grand Rapids, MI.
