Idaho Statesman, Boise, Idaho, Thursday, January 1, 1953, Page 10, Col. 2: Harriett Pomeroy, Former Boisean, Dies in Collision. Weiser (Special)---Mrs. Harriett Pomeroy, 49, Seattle, Wash., a former Boise school teacher, died in a Weiser hospital at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday of injuries suffered two hours before in a head-on automobile collision six miles west of Weiser on highway 30.

Her husband, Richard Pomeroy, 52, former principal of the Boise junior high school and now a principal of a Seattle school, suffered leg and head injuries. His condition was reported to be "good" Wednesday night at a Weiser hospital.

Iloe Estes, Lime, Ore., who suffered an arm injury, was treated at the Weiser hospital and released. Estes was issued a citation by the Oregon state police on a charge of driving on the wrong side of the highway and is scheduled to appear in justice court at Ontario Friday morning.

Oregon state police said Pomeroy was driving and his wife was asleep in the front seat when their car and Estes' pickup collided. Mrs. Pomeroy was thrown against the dashboard, officers said.

The Pomeroys had been visiting at Gooding, Boise and Caldwell with relatives over the Christmas holidays and were returning to Seattle. Pomeroy was principal of the Boise junior high school before 1938. During the war he was educational director of the Hunt relocation project. In 1946 he moved to Seattle. Mrs. Pomeroy was a substitute teacher in the Seattle school system.

Mrs. Pomeroy is survived by her husband, three sisters, Mrs. James William, Mrs. Welliver Miller and Mrs. William Pyle, all of Gooding, and a brother, Frank Brown, American Falls.

The Northam-Jones chapel of Weiser will send the remains Friday to the Thompson chapel of Gooding for services and interment at Gooding.
