Kalona News, Kalona, Iowa, Thursday, October 16, 2008: Dolores F. Foster, 90, of Kalona, formerly of Wellman, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 following a short illness due to declining health. Services were held Thursday, October 16 at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Rev. Rich Pipert officiating. Burial was in Keota Public Cemetery in Keota. Dolores F. Foster was born September 2, 1918 in Washington, the daughter of Charles and Fern Coakley Shalla. She was a salesperson at Seifer's Women's Store in Washington for 17 years. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Wellman, enjoyed dancing, gardening and her friends. She enjoyed being a winter Texan for many years. She married Milford Shetler and later Henry Foster, March 29, 1946 in Aberdean, Maryland. She is survived by three daughters: Sonja Woodham of Oakland, California, Laura and husband Hank Vogel-Beisheim of Lakewood, Colorado, Lizbeth and husband Stuart Booth of Walnut Creek, California; a step-daughter Sue and husband Ken Kempf of Wellman; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry in June, 1992; daughter Lynn Foster; and brother Dwane Shalla.
