Daily Illinois State Journal, Springfield, Illinois, Saturday, August 3, 1918, age 3: Will is filed at Hillsboro. Special to the State Journal--Hillsboro; Aug. 2--The fill of the late J. W. Kirkpatrick of Litchfield, who died July 19, was filed for probate this morning in the county court. The testator leaves all his property, real and personal to his widow, Hattie Kirkpatrick. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was appointed executrix of estate without bond. The will was written May 9, 1918, and was witnessed by Edward Wright and C. H. Pfeiffer of Litchfield. Petition filed shows real estate valued at $1,000 and personal property valued at $100. The testator has one son, Harry Kirkpatrick of Litchfield.

Litchfield, March 24---Mrs. Hattie Kirkpatrick, 65, widow of the late William Kirkpatrick, who for many years was manager of the Illinois Brick & Tile works, died at her home this morning after a brief illness. She was born in Germany and came to this city when she was 6 years old. One son, Harry Kirkpatrick, Springfield, and two brothers, John and Wesley Roingwald, Kansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Bowsher Ricker, Sorento, and Mrs. Louis Ricker, Kansas, survive. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge , the W. R. C. and the Methodist church. The funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at First M. E. church, Rev. Mr. Webster officiating. Burial will be made in Elmwood cemetery.
