Daily Illinois State Journal, Springfield, Illinois, Monday, July 17, 1967, Page 4, Col. 5: Miss Gail Sympson, 88, of the King's Daughters Home, died at 12:35 p.m. Sunday at the Rutledge Manor Nursing Home. She was born at Carthage, the daughter of Crittenden and Clara Kirkpatrick Sympson. A member of the Douglas Avenue Methodist Church, she resided in Springfield for the past 20 years. Miss Sympson lived in Texas and Oklahoma for several years and was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Springer of Springfield and Mrs. Karr Parker of Buffalo, N.Y. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert S. Swain officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
