Alton Weekly Telegraph, Alton, Illinois, Friday, September 5, 1873, Page 3, Col. 3: Cholera---The St. Louis Republican of this morning says: "We learn that a number of cases of cholera are at Litchfield, Ill. Last Saturday an interesting little girl aged seven, the daughter of Mr. Samuel D. Kirkpatrick, died after only a few hours' illness. Mr. Kirkpatrick's wife and one of his daughters, Miss Anna, are seriously ill with this dangerous and malignant disease, but hopes are entertained they will both recover."

Mr. Kirkpatrick and family formerly resided in Alton and have many friends here.
