Posted at findagrave.com: Jennings: A mass of Christian burial for James Allen Hill, age 90, will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 @ 10 AM with Father Charles McMillin officiating. James was called to his Heavenly Father Thursday afternoon while in Christus Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport. The Hill family requests visitation be observed on Monday, Feb. 14th from 3 PM - 10 PM and resume on Tuesday at 8 AM until the time of his services. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Mike Tramel on Monday evening at 6 PM. James will be laid to rest in Bertrand Cemetery.

James Allen was born in Jennings to the late Charles Ellen and Effie Stevens Hill on November 19, 1920. He served his country honorable in the United States Air Force. He worked in education as a state grounds supervisor until his retirement. James loved the outdoors and raising cattle and farming. He was a wonderful and loving man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Lelia LeBlanc Hill of Keithville; 6 sons, Gareth Hill and wife Tricia of Elton, Randall Hill and wife Beneth of Welsh, Kenneth Hill and wife Phyllis of Elton, Michael Hill of Elton, Ralph Steven Hill of Shreveport, and Douglas Hill and wife Linda of Shreveport; 1 daughter, Nelda H. Walsh also of Shreveport.
