Memorials have been established with St. Joseph Hospital's oncology unit and the American Cancer Society. Lakeview Mortuary.

Stevens of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on November 9, 1982 at St.Joseph's Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Services were held at 3 p.m. in the Grace Presbyterian Church on November 11, 1982. Burial was made in the Garden of the Cross Lakeview Garden Cemetery in Wichita.

Carrol was born on March 27, 1924 at Blue Hill to Harvey and Blanche Stevens. He attended Blue Hill High school, graduating in 1941. He graduated from Hastings College and attended Yale University and Kansas State University. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre with the army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot. He received his discharge in 1945.

Carrol was employed at the Boeing Co. of Wichita as an operations analyst for many years. He was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and on various committees.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma Jean; 4 daughters, Vickie Watus of McPherson, Kansas, Cheryl Lyda, August, Kansas, Jill Cookson and Becky Gifford of Wichita; his mother, Blanche Stevens of Blue Hill; 2 brothers, Wendel of Blue Hill and Ronald of Plainview, Nebraska; one sister, Artis Ramey of Tempe, Arizona; 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.
