On the 1930 U. S. census of Black Hawk, Jefferson Co., Iowa, Roy is listed on the index as Ray Campbell. His wife Alice is also there. Roy is a farmer.

On the 1940 U. S. Census of Richland, Keokuk Co., Iowa, he is listed as Leroy F. Campbell. He is with his wife Alice M., daughters Kathaleen M., age 5 and Chalalotte J. age 1, plus his mother, Effie, age 64. Leory is a farmer and Efffie works as a servant. All members of the household were born in Iowa.

Roy and Alice reportedly had 3 children, 2 were found on the 1940 Census. One of the daughters married Rex Hogan.

Campbell, 67, of here died at the Washington County Hospital Monday night, June 25, 1973. He had been in poor health the past several years. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Brighton with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. The body is at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Mr. Campbell was born May 9, 1906 in Jefferson County to John and Effie Paxson Campbell. He married Alice Raines Jan. 22, 1930. He attended school in Richland, farmed awhile after graduation and moved into Richland in 1938. He worked in a grocery there until 1949 when he moved to Brighton and operated a cafe until retirement in 1969 because of poor health.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Katie) McClurg of Brighton and Mrs. Rex (Charlotte) Hagans of Lake Oswego, Ore., and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of the Packwood Christian Church and the Knights of Pythias.
