Stillman Oscar Fish

Stillman Fish was born in Madison County, Illinois on 7 November 1831. He moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1858 and died there on 5 March 1913. He is buried in Belle-fontaine Cemetery in St. Louis. He was married on 7 December 1869 in St Louis to Martha A. ______, who was born in Kentucky and died in St Louis in 1891. Stillman served as a Lieutenant and Captain in Company A, 2nd Missouri Light Artillery in the Union Army during the Civil War.

On the 1880 U. S. Census of St. Louis, St. Louis Co., Missouri, Stillman's occupation is Clerk in Assessors Office. His wife Martha and twin sons Henry and Daniel are also in the household along with a servant, Alice Theuden. The family lives at 103 Singleton St.

On the 1900 U. S. Census of St. Louis Co., Missouri, Stillman O. and son Harry L. are living as boarders at 75 Olive St., a boarding house run by Irene Douglas. They are living at 1925 Olive St. Both Stillman and Harry are clerks for the railroad.

On the 1910 U. S. Census of St. Louis Co., Missouri, Stillman and Harry Fish are boarders at 4040 Olive St., St. Louis. Stillman has no occupation listed and Harry is a merchant at tea and coffee company.
