Edward Fothergill

Lexington Leader, Lexington, Kentucky, Sunday, January 17, 1954, Page 16, Col. 5: Richmond, Jan. 16---Edward Fothergill, 68, Berea, a retired postal clerk, died at Berea College hospital at 3:15 a.m. today after a long illness.

Mr. Fothergill was former organist for the Berea Baptist church, Lexington. He was a member of the Berea Masonic lodge.

A native of Bradford, England, he came to the United States at the age of 16.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mona Lee Fothergill; four sons, Joe and Bobby Fothergill, Berea; Harry Fothergill, Lexington, and David Fothergill, Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Jacobs, Vallejo, Calif.; and Mrs. Olan Howard, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and a twin sister, Mrs. Eva Powers, Weymouth Heights, Mass.

The body is at the Britton funeral home, Berea.

Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Monday, January 18, 1954, Page 8, Col. 5: Richmond, Ky., Jan. 17 (Special)---Funeral services for Edward Fothergill, 68, of Berea, who died Friday will be conducted at the Berea Baptist church at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. George Regland. Burial will be in Berea cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Otto Bowling, John Adams, Harold Tremaine, Leonard Abney, Russell Parsons and Franklin C. Green. Honorary pallbearers will be W. S. Swinford, John Hammond, Morris Todd, John Daugherty, Troy Higgins and Rube Abney. the body is at the Britton funeral home, Berea.
