Christine E. Stephens

Posted at findagrave.com: Mrs. Christine E. Frazer, 81, died Saturday, January 22, 1983, in a Leavenworth, Kansas, hospital. Mrs. Frazer had been in declining health the past few years but a hospital patient less than a week. She was born February 19, 1901, to W.A. "Tudd" and Mary C. Steele Stephens. A native and life long resident of Weston, she was well known in the area and made many friends through the years. Married to Burnette Frazer on January 8, 1919, they were the parents of five children. Her husband died in 1934 and a daughter, Iris Frazer Burrows, also preceded her in death in 1975.

A cheerful , industrious, lady, Mrs. Frazer worked as a cashier at McCombers grocery store in Weston for several years. She also worked at the Hotel Weston Cafe and later for her son, A.B. Frazer, in his clothing store in Weston. She is remembered as a great cook and a woman who loved to visit with her friends and family. She also enjoyed her garden and home. Mrs. Frazer is survived by three sons, Jack Frazer of Gladstone, A.B. Frazer of Naples, Florida, and James Frazer of Weston; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Bittick of Neshkora, Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Grace Baker, Weston; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday, January 25, in the Vaughn Chapel in Weston. Rev. Larry Bernard officiated and was accompanied by organist, Mrs. Maurice Schindler, as he sang "The Old Rugged Cross". Pallbearers for burial in Graceland Cemetery were Bob Baker, John Duff, Gary Stephens, Danny Fulk, Bobby Baker and Kenneth Harpst.
