Lawrence Journal World, Lawrence, Kansas, Friday, September 23, 1988, Page 7, Col. 2: Olathe---Funeral services for Ruth V. Lodge, 68, Olathe, were held this morning at the W. L. Frye and Son Funeral Home here. Burial was in the Gardner Cemetery. Mrs. Lodge died Tuesday at her home. She was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Princeton and spent her early years in Gardner. She lived most of her life in Olathe and had been the secretary for the W. L. Frye and Son Funeral Home for the last 16 years. Before that, she had worked for patrons Bank in Olathe.
She was married to Herbert L. Lodge, a prominent Olathe attorney, on Oct. 6, 1942. He died Nov. 16, 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olathe and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olathe and was active in area civic and community organizations. Survivors include a son, Charles R., Shorewood, Minn.; two daughters, Betty Melton, Olathe, and Cherie Malone, Linwood; a sister, Betty Seely, Sunnyvale, Calif; and six grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 5442 Martway, Mission, Kan., 66205.
