Alton Evening Telegraph, Alton, Illinois, Friday, September 2, 1927, Page 3, Col. 4: Former Fosterburg Woman Dies in Iowa. Mrs. E. K. Preuitt, 85 years old, for many years a resident of Fosterburg, died at 5 o'clock Thursday morning in the home of her sister, Mrs. Eva Fawcett, at Dakota, Ia., where she had been staying for the past four years. Following her husband's death 10 years ago, Mr. Preuitt remained in her home in Fosterburg for several years, then moved to Dakota, where she made her home with her sister. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Fosterburg Baptist church. The Rev. C. W. Webb of Madison, formerly of Wood River, will officiate. Interment will be in the Fosterburg cemetery.

Humboldt Republican, Humboldt, Iowa, September 7, 1927, Page 1, Col. 4: Mrs. Mary Preuitt Lead [Dead] at Dakota City. The death of Mrs. Mary Preuitt, whose illness from a stroke some days ago has been mentioned, occurred Thursday of last week. The remains were shipped to Bethalto, Ill., for interment. The deceased was past eighty-four years of age, and had made her home with her sister, Mrs. L. D. Fawcett, for some time.
