The Spokesman-Review, Spokane, Washington, Friday, December 24, 1999: No service will be held for Margaret "Peggy" Getchell at her request. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Getchell, who died Dec. 16, was born in Troy, Idaho. She was 82. She and her husband, Walter, owned a grocery store and tavern in Spokane. She retired in the early 1980s. Mrs. Getchell later owned a restaurant on Riverside Avenue called Peggy's Place. She was a 45-year Spokane resident. Her husband died in 1974. Survivors include two sons, James and Thomas Getchell, both of Spokane; a sister, Opal LaTour of Seattle; and a granddaughter.
