Madison Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, Wisconsin, Thursday, May 6, 1999, Page 10, Col. 1: Platteville---Gladys Caroline Enloe, age 96, of Platteville, Wisconsin died Tuesday morning, May 4, 1999 at Gray's Nursing Home in Platteville, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 7, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mergen-Boll Funeral Home, Platteville, Wisconsin. The Reverend Thomas Miller will officiate with burial in the Mifflin Wisconsin Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mergen-Boll Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Gladys Caroline Enloe, the daughter of William and Mathilda Kobitisch Rain, was born August 21, 1902 in Mifflin Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin. She attended the Waterloo Country School, rural Livingston. On June 21, 1922, Gladys was united in marriage to Thomas H. Enloe. They farmed in the Mifflin area for many years before retiring and moving to Platteville. Mr. Enloe died June [July]13, 1981. Gladys enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was also proceeded in death by an infant daughter, Vera; and two brothers, John and Jerry. Surviving include a daughter, Barbara Johns of Platteville, Wisconsin; a son, William (Ruth) Enloe of Rewey, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mifflin Cemetery Association. The Mergen-Boll Funeral Home of Platteville, Wisconsin is serving the family. 608-348-2446.
