Shirley R. Caves

Provo Daily Herald, Provo, Utah, Tuesday, October 4, 1966, Page 4, Col. 4: Provo Man Dies at 65. Shirley R. Caves, 65, 1092 E. 820 N., died Monday morning near Hobble Creek of a heart attack. He was born March 18, 1901 in Black River Falls, Wis., a son of William and Caroline Olson Caves. He was married to Mary Jane Enloie [Enloe] , June 20, 1925, at Waukegan, Ill.
Mr. Caves attended Black River Falls schools, he was a graduate of Stout Institute in Menomonnie, Wis., a teachers college in industrial arts. He moved to Weirton, W. Va. where he taught school for a number of years. He later became affiliated with the Weirton Steel Company. He came to Provo in 1944 and resided here until his death.
Mr. Caves was employed with the U.S. Steel Company in the open hearth. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Story Lodge 4 in Provo. He had been active in the Boy Scout organization. He enjoyed music, and his hobbies were hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Provo; one son, Jeff Caves of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Earl Caves of Acron [Akron], Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel of Provo Thursday at 2 p.m. with Reverend Stuart Olbrich, pastor of the Provo Community Congregational Church, officiating. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday prior to services. Burial will be at the Provo City Cemetery. Friends may, if they wish, in lieu of flowers contribute to the Utah County Mental Health in Care of the United Fund.
