Krog, age 51, of Platteville, died on Tuesday, September 10, 1974, at Municipal Hospital after an illness. Born April 7, 1923, in Platteville, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Krog graduated from Platteville High School in 1941, and from Platteville Institute of Technology in 1948. He was presently the assistant postmaster, member of First English Lutheran Church, veteran of World War II, American Legion Leo M. Kane Post No. 42, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5247, and Platteville Fire Department for 22 years. Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Austin; a son, John, Platteville; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Kalscheur, Manitowoc; four grandchildren; and his father, Alfred, Tujunga, California. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada. Funeral services will be held at First English Lutheran Church, Platteville, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 12. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery where graveside military rites will be held by the American Legion and VFW. Friend may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 at Thomas-Bonin-Soman Funeral Home.
