Madison Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, Wisconsin, Saturday, March 11, 1989, Page 12, Col. 3: Platteville/Madison---Miss Florence Rundell, age 94 of Platteville, and former resident of the Methodist Retirement Center in Madison, died Friday at Parkview Terrace Nursing home in Platteville. Florence was born February17, 1895. She was the daughter of Edgar and Mary (Laughton) Rundell. She attended the Platteville schools and graduated from the Platteville Normal School with a Bachelor degree. She taught of Fennimore and Michawaka, Indiana.
She received her Master's Degree from Columbia university in 1939, she then taught typing and commercial at Shorewood High School in Milwaukee for many years, until retiring to Platteville in the late 50s. In 1977 she moved to Madison. She lived at the Methodist Retirement Center. She has been a resident of Parkview Terrace Nursing Home in Platteville since 1981. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Platteville. She is survived by three nephews, Edgar and Richard Grindell both of Platteville; and Robert Grindell of Frederick, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, march 12, 1989 at 2:00 p.m. at The Mergen Funeral Home in Platteville, where friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
