Charles Edward Peck, 94 years old, [?12] Byers avenue, died at 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning in Joplin General hospital where he was taken after suffering a stroke Saturday noon while eating lunch in his home.

Born on a farm near Osceola, Iowa, Mr. Peck came to Joplin in 1939 after retiring from operating a general Mercantile store in Springfield. He is a member of First Presbyterian church and Over-Fifty Club.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel Walker Peck, whom he married March 7, 1954; a son, Dr. George Peck, a physician at Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Mrs. John Musgrave, 5198 North Pearl avenue, and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning in Green Lawn cemetery in Springfield. The Rev. Robert Watts, pastor of Woodland Heights Presbyterian church of Springfield will officiate. Burial will be under direction of Thornhill-Dillon mortuary.

Friends may call at the mortuary chapel after 5 o'clock this afternoon. His body will be taken to Springfield early Tuesday morning.
