Chester, March 1 (Special)---John Lyle Kee, 80, prominent retired farmer of the Rodman section of Chester county, died early this morning at his home. He was a native of the Rodman section, son of the late John Lafayette and Carrie Price Kee. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church and was a member of the board of stewards for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Kee celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary January 1 of this year. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Lottie McWaters; six daughter, Mrs. Wade Gladden of Lancaster, Mrs. W. G. Kirkpatrick of Fort Mill, Mrs. Davis Kirkpatrick of Roselle, N. Y., Mrs.Estelle Atkinson of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. E. B. Mendenhall of Chester and Mrs. W. H. Maloney of Rock Hill, one son, J. J. Kee of Chester; a number of grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Newman of Salley and Misses Carrie Belle and Hattie Lewis Kee, both of Chester; and two brothers, J. Wofford Kee and W. Bart Kee, both of the Rodman section. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. from Pleasant Grove Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. R. E. Seigious, assisted by the Rev. Raymond L. Holroyd, pastor of Bethel Methodist Church of Chester. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Barron's Funeral Home at Chester until one hour before time for the services.
