A Vista man was fatally injured yesterday when his sports car ran off Lake Wohlford Road, northeast of Escondido and struck a power pole. The victim, Philip Harold Calvert, 24, of 423 North Citrus Ave., died at 7:20 a.m. in Palomar Memorial Hospital in Escondido, the coroner's office said. Calvert suffered multiple head and chest injuries in the 4:32 a.m. accident, officials said.
