Doris was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Sugar Creek, the daughter of Sterling and Freeda Watkins. She graduated from the Anderson High School with the class of 1943. She had worked in data processing for Armco Steel until her retirement, and was a member of Blue Ridge Boulevard Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Soderstadt.

Her survivors include two sisters, Bess Hampton, Springfield, Mo., and Pat Downs, Holt, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Nov. 16, 2001, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial was in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
