Ada Weekly News, Ada, Oklahoma, Thursday, January 12, 1939, Page 1, Col. 3: Pioneer Oklahoma Resident Is Dead. Tulsa, Jan. 11---Mrs. Iva Latta, 63, pioneer Oklahoman and widow of the late Thomas A. Latta, former editor of the Tulsa World and of the Oil and Gas Journal, died today of a heart attack after a long illness. Married in 1900, Mr. and Mrs. Latta lived in Claremore when he was owner of The Progress for several years. Then they moved to Bartlesville and Oklahoma City and returned here in 1919 to make their home. Five sons and four daughters survive. Funeral services will be held here Friday morning with burial in Bartlesville.
