Miller, well-known 78-year-old retired farmer and sawmill operator of Rt. 3, Van Buren, died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21st at the Doctors Hospital in Poplar Bluff. He had been ill about two weeks. A resident of Carter County for 62 years, Mr. Miller was born Aug. 11th, 1890, in the Sinking Creek Community in Reynolds County. He was a member of Grandin Masonic Lodge 579, and the Baptist Church. On Nov. 4th, 1908, he married Miss Ida Pearl Young, who died Mar. 10th, 1962. Survivors include five children, Mrs. Hazel Bowman and Eugene Miller of St. Louis, Mrs. Clara Barrington of West Covina, Calif., Ray Miller of Garwood and Clarence M. Miller of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Mack Miler of St. Louis, and a sister, Mrs. Lula Losh, also of St. Louis. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Yount Memorial Baptist Church, with Rev. Willie Joe Price of Salem officiating. A Masonic service was held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the family home. Burial was in Yount Memorial Cemetery by McSpadden Funeral Home.
