Madison Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, Wisconsin, Wednesday, September 12, 1956, Page 9, Col. 2: Belmont---Lloyd L. Hemphill, 47, died Tuesday unexpectedly at his home in Belmont. Mr. Hemphill was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Hinkins-Moody American Legion Post No. 453, Belmont. He had been a lifelong Belmont resident, and had been a licensed amateur radio operator. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Maude Hemphill, with whom he had been living. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Thomas funeral home, Platteville, and military graveside rites will be held in the Belmont cemetery.
