Horace Wakefield Allen

Evening Tribune, San Diego, California, Wednesday, December 31, 1986: Services for Horace W. Allen, 92, of Normal Heights, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Lewis Colonial-Benbough Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. He died Dec. 19 in a hospital. Mr. Allen, a native San Diegan, lived here all his life, had been a warehouseman for 40 years and was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 240, the Senior Citizens Friendship Group, Trinity United Methodist Church and Normal Heights United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mabel; three daughters, Florine Lee of San Diego and Carol Anderson and Joyce Allen, both of Santa Ana; a sister, Linda Warren of Seal Beach; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggested donations to Veterans Hospital or Normal Heights United Methodist Church.
