The State Journal-Register, Springfield, Illinois, Sunday, April 29, 1990, Edition M1 & Ms, Page 26: Mrs. Charlotte "Sallie" Brodnax, 74, of Oak Terrace Retirement Center, formerly of Walnut Grove, Ga. died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on May 22, 1915 the daughter of Charles E. and Kathryn Neisen Springer. She was preceded in death by her husband, O. Sam Brodnax; three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church and Elizabeth Downing Circle of King's Daughters. Surviving are one brother, Duane Springer; of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Hyndman of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. Remains were cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Bisch Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
