Valley Morning Star, Harlingen, Texas, Tuesday, April 26, 1977, Page 2, Col. 5: McAllen---Kermit Fletcher, 69, died Monday morning in Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Mr. Fletcher had lived in McAllen for a year. Prior to moving to McAllen he had lived in Sebastian for 42 years, where he was engaged in the cotton and grain business. Mr. Fletcher was a past elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Raymondville and a past lieutenant governor of the Southern District of Optimists International.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Hope Fletcher, of McAllen; four sons, Richard N. Fletcher, Carrizo Springs, Tex., Ronnie Fletcher, Lake Jackson, Tex., Gary Fletcher, McAllen and Steve Fletcher, Harlingen; his mother, Mrs. Edna L. Fletcher, Harlingen; a brother, Bill Fletcher, Harlingen; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church in Raymondville, with the Rev. Tom Baily officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in LaFeria. Pallbearers will be Maury Pollard, Sidney Beyer, George Graham, Nathan Hedges, Bryson Blowey and Bobby Clark. Friends may pay their respects Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church of Raymondville from 9 a.m. until service time. Kreidler Funeral Home of McAllen is in charge of arrangements.
