Funeral services for Reinhold Max Borchardt, 78, who died August 24 in a Hale Center hospital, were held Thursday in Plainview. Officiating was the Rev. H. E. McClain, pastor of the Nazarene Church of Whitney, and the Rev. Merve Kelly, pastor of the Plainview Nazarene Church. A native of Collin County, Mr. Borchardt came to the Plainview area in 1910 where he attended school. After his marriage in the late 1920's, he moved to the Rio Grande Valley, but came back to the Plainview area to the Mayfield community in the late 1930's. He farmed until retirement in 1966. He was a member of the Nazarene Church. Surviving are two sons, two brothers, including W. O. Borchardt of Tulia, six sisters, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
