Cecil Buford "Pete" Turnipseed

The Dexter Statesman, Dexter, Missouri, Friday, August 18, 1972: Cecil Turnipseed succumbs at 54. Cecil Burford (Pete) Turnipseed the son of the late David J. and Cora B. Tucker Turnipseed was born at Puxico, March 23, 1918 and succumbed at the Poplar Bluff Hospital August 16, at the age of 54. Mr. Turnipseed had lived in Illinois for 15 years, and the rest of his life was spent in the Puxico area. He was a retired farmer, and was a member of the Trinity General Baptist Church of Dupo, Ill.. July 29, 1939 he was married to Edith Ham at Poplar Bluff. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Turnipseed of R. 1, Puxico, one brother, George Turnipseed of Cahokia, Ill., one half-brother, J. D. Turnipseed of Florissant, Mo., and one half-sister, Mrs. Eva Bostic of Poplar Bluff, other relatives and many friends also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Brown General Baptist Church near Puxico with Rev. Arvil Huffman of Chaffee officiating. Interment in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico. Watkins and Sons Service.
