Times Post, Houston, Mississippi, August 30, 1995: Houston---Leonard C. Funderburk, age 83, died Saturday, August 26,1995 at Trace Regional Hsopital of respiratory arrest. Funeral services were held Monday, August 28 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Houston with the Rev. J. W. Sheron officiating. The son of the late John Henry Funderburk and the late Ida Lou Tallent,, he was born June 26, 1912 in Chickasaw County. He was a retired farmer and was preceded in death by his wife, the late Mable Clark Funderburk who passed away February 12, 1986. Survivors include three daughters, Louise Kalmus of Southaven, Mary Frances Marquuis of Milwaukee, WI and Martha Owen of Memphis TN; four sons, Charles Funderburk, Kenneth FUnderburk and Steve Funderburk, all of Houston and Joe Funderburk of Houlka; one sister, Ola Clark of Jackson; 14 grandchildre and eight great great grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
