Edgar Charles Hoffman

Peninsula Daily News, Port Angeles, Washington, Sunday, July 11, 2004: June 30, 1925 -- July 5, 2004, Edgar "Bud" C. Hoffman died in Forks of lung cancer at the age of 79. Mr. Hoffman was born in Port Angeles to Charles and Bertha (Liljedahl) Hoffman. He married Bonny J. Fuller in Centralia in 1978. She died Oct. 10, 1992. He had previously been married to Edith J. Fuller, from whom he was divorced in 1976. Mr. Hoffman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and later worked as a logger and shovel operator on the Olympic Peninsula. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, feeding wild birds, and giving neighborhood children ice cream and after school snacks. He was known as "Papa Bud" by the children he knew. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law David Charles and Paulette Hoffman of Bremerton; daughter and son-in-law Terri and Dave Demorest of Forks; brother Donald Hoffman of Joyce; sisters Virginia Brown and Patricia Hoffman, both of Port Angeles; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Wayne Hoffman and sister Rachel Gragg. Services: At his request there will be no service.
