The Dallas Morning News, Dallas, Texas, Saturday, January 14, 2006: Hoag, , Claudine Lipscomb, Born July 11, 1909 and has gone to be with her Savior January 12, 2006. Claudine was one of the first valedictorians of Grapevine High School. Her family was a large part of historical Grapevine with one of the downtown buildings still representing her family name, Lipscomb. She married William D. Hoag in 1938. Her valedictorian address and her wedding dress are being donated to the Grapevine Historical Museum. Mr. Hoag's family was descendants of Lord Admiral Nelson. She attended SMU and completed her education at Texas College of Industrial Arts which is now TWU in Denton. She taught many years in the Dallas ISD at Dealy Elementary and most of her mathematics teaching years at Thomas Jefferson High School. Her husband and son, Douglas M. Hoag, predeceased her. She is survived by one son, Dr. David Nelson Hoag and wife, Eve; grandchildren, Jim Hoag and wife, Laura, Laura Lynn Adame, Mary Ellen Thieroff, and Cathy Anne Wilson; seven great-grandchildren. We wish to include Barbara Ehle, her caregiver, as part of the family for she truly cared for her as her own mother. Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Restland Wildwood Chapel with Pastor Rick Chitwood officiating. Visitation thirty minutes prior to service.
