William John Meredith

Palo Alto Times, Palo Alto, California, April 10, 1942: Private funeral services were held this afternoon for William J. Meredith, father of Rhys F. Meredith, and Mrs. D. W. Porter of Palo Alto, who died yesterday in San Francisco. He had been ill for several months and death came at the Stanford Hospital. Roller and Hapgood had charge of the services. Mr. Meredith was born 79 years ago at Oskaloosa, Kansas. He was the husband of Ida K. Meredith and the father of Lieut. Col. Evan K. Meredith of Camp Roberts, in addition to the two children living here. Two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Doll and Mrs. Frank Weatherford, live in Alameda.
