The Dispatch, Moline, Illinois, Dec 22, 2005: Leroy U. Clason, 71, of Milan, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. Services are 9:30 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Quad City Diabetes Association or the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Leroy was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Wauzeka, Wis., a son of Rollo Clason and Charlotte Ward Clason. He married Marie Ellingsworth Dec. 31, 1975, in Rock Island. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was vice president and head of engineering for the former Eagle Foods, Milan, for 32 years. In earlier years he managed Memri Drive-In Theater, Milan, for 15 years. He was a member of the Holiday Ramblers Roadrunners HRRVC Chapter 8 and Milan Knights of Pythias. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Blackhawk Fire Protection District, Milan, for 27 years, and was a longtime member of the Milan Auxilary Police. He loved RVing, hunting, fishing and his dog, Sampson. Surviving are his wife, Marie, Milan; daughters (and spouses), Lori (Terry) Wensel, Milan, Linda (Brad) Small, Orion, and Michele (John) Spangle, North Manchester, Ind; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Don Morey; and a great-grandson.
