Lena Lora Kirkpatrick

Lena Lora was the daughter of William W. Kirkpatrick and his first wife, Christina (Decker) Kirkpatrick. Lena was born 14 December 1878 at Burnside, Knox Co., Illinois, and died 4 March 1961 at Twin Falls, Twin Falls Co., Idaho. She married George Edward Pomeroy, son of Richard A. and Mary Ann (Stone) Pomeroy, at Burnside, Knox Co., Illinois, 24 August 1898. George was born 24 August 1876, Adrian, Hancock Co., Illinois, and died 2 October 1944 at Twin Falls, Twin Falls Co., Idaho.

There were five (5) children born of the marriage.

Mrs. Lena Pomeroy, for many years an area resident, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Caldwell at the Memorial Park nursing home after a long illness. She was 82. Mrs. Pomeroy was born in Illinois and married her husband the late George Pomeroy in that state in 1898. In 1912, the couple moved to the Salmon tract where they farmed until 1930. They then moved to Twin Falls where Mrs. Pomeroy lived until 1959. She was preceded in death by Mr. Pomeroy in 1944, and by a son, R. A. Pomeroy, Seattle, Feb. 10 of this year. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J. Loyd Harvey, Middleton, and Mrs. Chester Loucks, Twin Falls, and a son, William K. Pomeroy, South Gate, Calif. Funeral arrangements will be announced.
