Lewisville, Sept. 18.---Mrs. Penelope Kirkpatrick, 74, wife of Dr. D. F. Kirkpatrick, died at 3 o'clock Friday morning, following a long illness. She had been in ill health two years, and confined to her bed the past several weeks. Funeral services were set for 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Lewisville Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in the Old Hall cemetery.

Born in Tennessee Dec. 12, 1862, the daughter of W. H. and Sophia Jones, she came to Texas with her parents when six years old. They settled on the old Jones farm north of Lewisville where she lived until her marriage to E. W. Shepard of Lewisville in 1886. Shepard died in 1909, leaving two daughters from that union; Mrs. W. M. Saunders and Mrs. Ben Cunningham, both of Lewisville. Mrs. Kirkpatrick married Dr. Kirkpatrick Jan. 2, 1921. Surviving besides her husband and the two daughters named above, are Tom and Will Kirkpatrick, her step-sons, and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild
