Harold Lee

Harold (Pappy) Lee, 62, one of Eureka's leading bowlers for more than 25 years, died in a hospital at Covina on Easter Sunday. He had suffered from cancer. Born in Eureka, Lee graduated from Eureka High School where he participated in Basketball and track. For many years he was a member of Halverson's Orchestra of this city, playing the banjo. He was a member of the Moose Club and also a life member of the local Painter's Union. During his local bowling career, Lee was a member of numerous championship teams. He started bowling at the original Eureka Bowl on lower Fourth Street. He also participated in many state championships. Lee is survived by his son, Glenn Lee of Covina; a brother, Conrad Lee of Sacramento and a sister, Betty Balatti of Sunnyvale. He was preceded in death by his wife *Jackie in 1943. Funeral services will be held Friday at Sanders Funeral Home.

*Wife Zella died in 1944.
