"Larry" Arvin Jr., 53, of Homedale, who died Wednesday in a Caldwell hospital will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Hubert's Catholic Church, Homedale. Rosary will be recited at 8 tonight at Homedale's Flahiff Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. He was born on Dec. 16, 1921, in Spokane, Wash., and was reared there and in Kinzna and Fossil, Ore. He married Elna Kirkpatrick on Dec. 29, 1944, in Portland. They lived in Portland, Redding, Ore., and Reno, Nev., before coming to Homedale in 1968. He worked at various lumber mills and was employed by Arvin Mill Works of Homedale. He was a member of St. Hubert's Catholic parish, Western Wood Moulding and Woodwork Association, Forest Products Research Society, Timber Products Manufacturers Association and the International Order of the Hoo-Hoo. Serving [Surviving] in addition to his wife are five daughters, Nancy Kirkpatrick, Carole McCurdy and Patricia Wood, all of Reno, Theresa Collins of Nampa, and Laurel Sharp of Homedale; his father, Laurence H. Arvin, Sun City, Ariz.; his mother, Margaret Wacker, Homedale; a brother, Tom Arvin, Homedale; and 13 grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise.
