Rosella Jane Barton

OBITUARY
Rosella Jane Barton was born in Henry County, Iowa, December 30, 1861, and died June 19, 1926, aged 64 years, 5 months and 19 days. She was married to Thomas H. Lemmon, Decemvber 31, 1879. To this union were born six children, four boys and two girls, three of whom died in infancy. Those living are Roscoe B. and Robert of Willow Island, and Mrs. Edna Isaacson of Gothenburg, Neb. She leaves a husband, two sons, one daughter, seven grand children and two brothers, Charles and David Barton of Mount Pleasant, Ia, to mourn her departure from this life. She was converted to Christ at the age of sixteen, and united with the Methodist Church. Se was a true Christian in every sense of the word. her life was a life of sacrifice and service unto others. The last five years she has been in failing health, yet during these years her thoughts were not of herself but of the welfare and health of her family and friends. Her pleasant and cheerful personality made her loved by all who knews her. Her last audible words to her husband and children were quotations from Scripture. Funeral services were held from the home June 21, 1926. The pastor of the Cozad Methodist Church, Rev. A. D. Burress, preached the sermon from Ps. 23:4. Music was furnished by a mixed quartette. The body was laid to rest in the Grand View Cemetery.
