The News Sun, Waukegan, Illinois, April 30, 2001: Elbert Vern Ainger, 73, of Antioch, IL., passed away on April 25, 2001 at Condell Medical Center. He was born April 27, 1927 in Hebron, IL. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Northwestern University, receiving a degree in business. He retired in 1993 from Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. He is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons: Kenneth (Mary) Ainger of Lincolnshire and their sons, Joseph and Steven (Julie), both of Arlington Heights and Samuel and Alec Ainger. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Duane (1978), and a brother, Alan (1987). Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 30, 2001, from the Marsh Funeral Home of Lindenhurst, 1840 East Grand Ave. Private Interment to follow in Greenwood, IL. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 AM, Monday only, at the funeral home. Family requests that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
