Almira Jane Blundell

(1839 - 3 Dec 1922)

The Correctionville News, Correctionville, Iowa, 7 December 1922, page 1: The remains of Mrs. Almira J. Sparks were shipped to Correctionville, arriving here on Wednesday of this week and short funeral services were held at the Methodist Church and interment made in the Correctionville Cemetery by the side of her husband, who was killed in a runaway accident in 1910 near Anthon. Mrs. Sparks made her home in Correctionville for many years, having emigrated to this country from Wisconsin about fifty years ago and remaining here until about twelve or fifteen years ago when she left for South Dakota to make her home with her son. At the time of her death she was 84 years, 4 months and 15 days of age. She has been in good health but last week caught a slight cold. This did not seem to be bad but it later developed into pneumonia and after six days she passed away. She leaves to mourn her loss one son, C.M. Sparks of Willow Lake, South Dakota, at whose house the death occurred, and one daughter, Mrs. A.M. Davis of Iroquois, South Dakota. The remains were accompanied to Correctionville by Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Sparks and they ask us to express their thanks to all old friends and neighbors who helped them bear their sorrow.
