Elijah Dennis Bushnell

Monroe Weekly Times, Monroe Wisconsin, Thursday, May 18, 1899, Page 4, Col. 3: W. F. Grindell, a Platteville undertaker, was in the city and left with the remains of Elijah Bushnell, inmate of the county insane asylum, who will be burried (sic) at Rewey. Bushnell was 65 years old and had been in asylums for nineteen years. He was a old soldier and was held prisoner in both Anniston and Libby prisons. He became insane in 1865 and was at Mendota nine years before coming here. His family receives $72 per month pension.
