Cockroft, age 67, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 16, 1997. She was born February 25, 1930 in Delavan, Wisconsin to Milton and Madeline (Bailey) Clason. On November 23, 1948, Dorothy married Gilbert J. Cockroft in Belvidere, Illinois. Dorothy worked for eight years as a CNA at Veteran's Hospital in Madison. She was instrumental in organizing the Thrift Shop in Richland Center and worked there 25 years. She also assisted her husband with his upholstering business. Dorothy was actively involved in church work and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband Gilbert; and son Paul, both of Mazomaine; her daughter Diana (Gary) Pings, Suck City; two granddaughters, Rochelle Ahrens and Kim Depies; two grandsons, Wayne Vaughan and Jeremy Pings; three great-grandchildren, Samantha Vaughan and Conner and Evan Depies; two sisters, Kay (Merlin) Dosch of Viola, and Gyneth Clason of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Muriel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 1997, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel, Richland Center. Pastor Robert Lee will officiate and burial will be in the Sylvan Cemetery.
