Memphis, Aug. 6 (AP)---A duct rut which caused their automobile to careen from a roadway near Brownsville, Ky., late yesterday cost the life of one young woman and the injury of three others. Miss Norma Abbott, 16, of Louisville, Ky., was fatally injured. She died late last night in a Memphis hospital. Miss Mary V. Holmes, 17, of Ripley,Tenn., was severely injured and Mis Edwina Scott and Miss Katherine Faust of Ripley, suffered minor injuries. The young women were driving from Ripley to Brownsville to join a swimming party, when the accident occurred.
