Ruth Caroline Coffin

Posted at Find-A-Grave.com. She passed away at Baylor Hospital with her family at her side. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Majors and son-in-law William H. Majors; son, William O. Stevens, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Sarah Stevens; grandchildren, Linda Kassebaum, Beth Fokides, Kelley Stevens, Will Stevens and Mark Stevens; 6 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was a long time Dallas resident and was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, William O. Stevens. He was a lifelong bank officer, serving as executive vice president at Republic Bank and CEO at the Bank of Lancaster. Ruth served as president of the Banker Wives' Association. Bill was a bank examiner in the early years and they lived all over the state and at one time, they lived in the C.W. Post home in Post, Texas. Ruth was very active until her death. She was an avid bridge player and had many friends inside and outside of the bridge world. Ruth was also proud of being a descendant of the well-known Coffin family who originally settled Nantucket. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her. Burial: Unknown.
