Bloomington Herald-Telephone, Bloomington Indiana, Sept. 16, 1988: Spencer--Services for Nellie Fox , 92, of R. 5, Spencer, who died early Thursday morning at Bloomington Hospital, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at West and Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home at Spencer with James P. Root officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Born Nov. 6, 1895, in Freedom, she was the daughter of Carroll F. and Rachel Jane (Courim) Needy. She was a retired elementary school teacher who had taught in Monroe, Owen, Carroll, Marion and Hendricks counties in Indiana, and also in Colorado and Florida. She was a member of Spencer Christian church and was a 50-year member of Freedom Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of National Retired Teachers Association and Indiana Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include one sister, Carol White of Indianapolis; three nieces; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Scott Fox, who died in 1944; one brother, Mark Need; and one nephew. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. today at West and Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home at Spencer.
